USS Saipan CVL-48 - Cruise Book 1946-1947 . As pictured. This cruise book is significant because the Saipan was a post World War II Carrier. The keel was laid July 10, 1944, the ship was commissioned July 14, 1946. Her maiden voyage was in the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, where she set records for plane landings (over 13, 000) on this cruise. Visited Cuba and Puerto Rico plus many US ports. Book is hardcover, 8 1/8" X 10 3/4", 176 pages, all Black ...& White photos, and is in good condition.
