OFFERED HERE
An ORIGINAL, NOT A COPY, NOR REPRODUCTION, AUTHENTIC old AUTOGRAPH ALBUM PAGE with a book stock photo HAND SIGNED by World Heavyweight Boxing Champion and actor JACK DEMPSEY here in his... 1924 movie "FIGHT AND WIN."I have a number of these pages signed by various silent movie stars obtained in person in the late 1950's and early 1960's. Our intrepid 'autograph hound' carried the 1953 oversized book "A Pictorial History of the Silent Screen" by Daniel Blum to various events and then removed the signed picture from that book and mounted in his autograph album. This is one of those pages and is a seldom seen signed picture from Dempsey's movie adventures.
William Harrison "Jack" Dempsey (June 24, 1895 – May 31, 1983), nicknamed "Kid Blackie" and "The Manassa Mauler", was an American professional boxer who competed from 1914 to 1927, and reigned as the world heavyweight champion from 1919 to 1926. A cultural icon of the 1920's, Dempsey's aggressive fighting style and exceptional punching power made him one of the most popular boxers in history. Many of his fights set financial and attendance records, including the first million-dollar gate.Dempsey is ranked tenth on The Ring magazine's list of all-time heavyweights and seventh among its Top 100 Greatest Punchers, while in 1950 the Associated Press voted him as the greatest fighter of the past 50 years. He is a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame, and was in the previous Boxing Hall of Fame.Dempsey did not defend his title for three years following the 1924 Firpo fight. There was pressure from the public and the media for Dempsey to defend his title against Black contender Harry Wills. Disagreement exists among boxing historians as to whether Dempsey avoided Wills, though Dempsey claimed he was willing to fight him. When he originally won the title, however, he had said he would no longer fight Black boxers.Instead of continuing to defend his title, Dempsey earned money with boxing exhibitions, product endorsements, and by appearing in films, such as the adventure film serial Daredevil Jack. Dempsey also did a lot of traveling, spending, and partying.

FEEDBACK
Feedback is a huge issue for sellers. The new rules of eBay make the detailed feedback (the stars) as important as whether the feedback is positive or not. By giving a seller 1 or 2 stars you may cause him/her additional expenses on eBay fees of hundreds of dollars a month for a long period of time. Please contact me before leaving a less than perfect feedback to discuss any problem.
