This is an Original Revolutionary War era STATE OF CONNECTICUT Note, from the Comptroller's Office, dated "December 16, 1789". Single-sheet (2-sided). Size: approx. 3 1/2" by 7". Excellent Condition overall (***Please note: this paper item has been mounted on a backing board. More, later!). Note has the customary punch-cancelation in the form of a round hole, about the size of a quarter. Note is made out to ELIJAH HUBBARD ESQ. in the amount of "ONE POUND". Signed, in... brown ink, at bottom, right-hand side by RALPH POMEROY, Comptroller. The back/reverse side is blank...(***O.K. Please be aware that this note has been mounted to a backing board and matted & shrink-wrapped. It was, apparently, intended for framing/displaying. I Did NOT do this! It was the way I received it!). Low beginning bid; or Buy-It-Now price! Buyer pays $5.65 S&H; extra for airmail postage outside the U.S. ***Please see scan. I am showing the front side of the note, as it appears w/its mat etc. The note, itself, is Crisp & Bright and NOT faint, as the picture would otherwise indicate (this is due to the fact that it is under plastic wrap). Despite the "impairment", ANY Item from 18th century America is becoming quite scarce and is HIGHLY Collectible!
