ESTATE CLEARANCE ITEM
This item is one from many items we are listing from a London estate clearance, we try do as much research as possible on items as well as their previous owners. We ...are not by any means experts in the field of jade, and will be starting the auction at 99p to let those who have better knowledge bid to what they deem as a fair price.Sorry, no buy it now on this item. WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE ITEMThis was brought into the country from Warsaw in 1921 having been collected by two family members who travelled to and traded in the far east in the cloth industry. In 1921 a family member moved to the U.K. bringing a collection of jade with them, the item was found still wrapped in newspaper from 1921 and it seems in all those years, no one ever took them out or looked at them, the paper had moulded itself around the jade and had to be carefully soaked off the item, the item was then inherited by another family member and amazingly, never opened or looked at the item to see what it was, the latest member to inherit simply has no interest in this or others to be listed, hence, time to go, almost a hundred years later.Display stand not included. We have no idea of the items real age as it could have been purchased new or already with age to it.Right, explanation over, the piece is of a mostly light green colour with black and other flecks in, I think this is a cicada piece, it's quite a plain object, it weighs 18gm and is approximately 5cm long x 3cm widest point. And there you have it, if you need any further information, please do get in touch and we shall try our best to help. Please view our other jade items.A VERY HAPPY & SAFE CHRISTMAS TIME TO ALL.
Thank you.
