This one is of thishighest quality spoon. A rare find from the world fair St. Louis Missouri 1904commemorating 100 years since Purchasein 1803 by Thomas Jefferson from Napoleon. A large land purchase (approx. 22%of modern U.S.A.) including the city of New Orleans for just 3c/acre. Here isan official souvenir spoon celebrating the LOUISANA PURCHASE EXPOSITION. Thehandle depicts 100 years of transportation progress 1803-1903, beginning with aherder rustling his buffalo, man o...n horses, pioneer’s wagon and ending with themodern (at that time) railroad locomotive train. In the bowl embossed is verydetailed image of building, the writing is THE CABILDO. Cabildo is the place where The LouisianaPurchase agreement was signed in 1803 by Thomas Jefferson and Napoleon. A largeland purchase (approx. 22% of modern U.S.A.) including the city of New Orleansfor just 3c/acre. The back says OFFICIAL, W.B. STEVENS, SECY., LOUSIANAPURCHASE EXPOSITION, ST. LOUIS. On the top of the back of the spoon, under 1904is the word STERLING. It has the hallmark LE then it says COPYRIGHT 1902 BYBERT BALL.
