Up for auction is a Vintage American Legion Marching Band Hat. Probably made in the early 1900's by The Lilly Company, which is marked in the bottom inside of the hat, along with the number 32 (see picture 8). Made of leather, felt, and brass trim/insignias. Hat has a large American Legion Insignia on the front and some small buttons on the side (left one has some damage), which hold the strap to the hat (the strap has been repaired in the middle - see picture 6).&nbs...p; There is a Vintage Plume that goes with the hat, but it looks as if a hole was created on the top of the hat for it to be set into place (see pictures 9 & 10).
The hat measures 5 1/2" tall x 6" wide x 9 3/4" deep. The left side of the brass rimmed hat visor needs some repair, as it needs to be reattached to the hat (see picture 3). A really cool collectible piece for the American Legion collector.
