Original Description:
This listing is for a circa 1900 Chinese figural sculpture of a Foo Dog lion hand carved out of teak wood. It measures 10 1/4 inches or 26 cm high and is 4 1/2 inches or 11.4 cm wide across the front of the base. This is an exceptionally carved and a fine example of Chinese hand carving. The foo dog has a dark red patina or color which is all original to the piece.It shows a full figure Foo Dog figure seated with their full attention at the viewer. Its front paws rest on an large ball... with an incised design. It sits on a carved rectangular bases with a scrolling linear border and geometric floral devices. It is in very good condition, there is some minor splits in the wood, which is age appropriate. It is ready for your home or shop.
