A very rare pair of Victorian, Charles Dickens, Pickwick Papers napkin rings depicting Mrs Bardell fainting in the arms Mr Pickwick and Mr Serjeant Buzfuz from the trial. They have the Victorian registered design lozenge for silver plate which dates them to 4th of December 1880 and attributes them to Mr Edmund Baker, 59 Norfolk Street, Sheffield, Yorkshire. I have included a screen shot of the registration. Mr Baker was a registered engraver.
They measure 47 mm / 1 7/8th inche...s from top to bottom. 33 mm / 1 5/16th inches wide and they weigh approximately 84 grs. I include the weight to give you an idea of the gauge of silver plate. These are not solid silver, they are silver plated. They are in very good condition, with fine surface marks. Please enlarge the photos. No reserve.
