WW2 German Wehrmacht Luftwaffe 20L Kraftstoff Kanne - Fuel Jerry Can 2 -
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:14982248 |
You are bidding on an SUPERB used example of a WW2 German Panzer and Vehicle 20 Litre Kraftstoff-Kanne (Fuel Canister). The classic "Jerry" can design was originally adopted by the German Armed forces in late 1936 or early 1937 and was so successful that the allies valued captured cans and based their own on the same design. The Czechoslovakian firm, "Sandrik" began producing the Jerry cans for the Germans, shortly after occupation. Made of welded sheet st...eel, this POST-WAR Jerry Can / Fuel Canister is in SUPERB used condition! Constructed in 2 halves, it is welded down the middle, and features embossed lettering: Treibstoff Feuergefährlich(Fuel, Highly Combustible) As it is in used condition, it does have the smell of fuel internally. Though it looks 100% identical in EVERY WAY to the war-time canisters, this was made in the 1950s. This came to me from a museum in Europe that had used it in a WW2 Vehicle display. It was painted in Dunkelgelb in the 1970's, PERFECT for re-enacting...or simply for display! Please email me if you need additional photos or information. ------------------- PAYMENT ----------------- Payment should be made within 7 business days at the end of the auction unless buyer contacts me for other arrangements.
