Description: Vintage Stanley No. 4-1/2 Wide Smooth Plane- c.1946, Great Condition, Cutting iron is marked "246" (2nd quarter of 1946) all parts are original to the plane. Condition- All original parts. No rust and no pitting, no cracks or chips, no damage or repairs aside from a repaired sliver on the rosewood tote's top as shown. Plane was lightly cleaned, Beautiful patina on the bare metal surfaces, brass has not been polished. Nice full length iron just needs a light honin...g. Japanning is 99%, not a re-paint nor has it been "enhanced" by a  Matisse in training.
