This "Imperial Model D" "Standard" typewriter was manufactured by the "Imperial Typewriter Company" was founded by Hidalgo Moya, in Leicester, England in 1908.The machine has retained much of its' original black paintwork, however, there are losses to the edges and corners as well as the scuffs, marks and scratches that you would expect from a well used machine.The gold lettering has retained a fair colour, however, the paper table appears to have been re-painted at some point and has... lost its' lettering.The chrome and metalwork have lost its' plated finish in places and there are signs of surface rust.All of the keys are present, however, some are stained and have been overwritten in ink, but the letters, numbers etc are still visible.The type heads strike the platen when the keys are depressed and the carriage moves along as it should. The "Figs/Caps" keys move the keyboard forward when they are used.The machine does type but will require a new ribbon.The ribbon holders are present and I have tried to show the condition in the photographs.The typewriter has the serial number 57068.
