The Osmia German company manufactured high quality pens, the top quality being the « Progress » line. Their competitors in the 50’s were Montblanc (14x line) or Pelikan (400). Bought by Faber Castell in 1951, the new owner started to brand gradually the pens under the Faber Castell name. The 883 was manufactured in the 1950’s, this is a pen from the « Progress » Supra serie. Faber Castell appears on the cap and the nib. The pen still has the « Osmia » marking on the body, the Osmia logo on the cap (a lozenge in a circle) as well as on the nib (the lozenge/circle figure). The pencil carries both « Fabef Castell and Osmia » markings and the Osmia logo on the top. The pen was therefore manufactured between 1951 (when Faber Castell took over Osmia) and the late 1950’s when Faber stopped to mention the Osmia brand on their pens. A very nice addition to any collection. Handling & shipping: Buyers pay shipping and handling I am NOT responsible for shipping loss or damage.
