19th C Impressionist Oil - Two Calves In Spring Signed R C Noyes

A charming late nineteenth century oil on canvas of two young calves in a field with blossoming trees.It is well painted in an impressionistic style and is signed lower right, "R.C.Noyes".The artist's name is actually Ralph Noyes Cranford (1866-1948) and it's thought that he signed this way to avoid confusion with his brother who was also an artist.The website Adirondack Experience has a few examples of his work.This painting measures 10" x 7" and is in good condition.There are two sma...ll repairs above the black calf and some mild rubbing from the original frame.The frame measures 11.75" x 14.5" and has some losses and touch ups to the edges and corners.Shipping will be 20.00.
