C1995 SHEAFFER LEGACY BLACK LAQUE GOLD PLATE FOUNTAIN PEN 18K STUB NIB W/ BOX
Item History & Price
This Sheaffer Legacy 1 displays a Hand-applied Black laque finish Barrel with brushed 23K gold electroplated cap with ...23K gold electroplated trim fitted with a solid 18K/750 gold nib. The cap and barrel have absolutely no damage, dents, wear to the finish. This fountain pen has been inked and is in Near Mint Condition. This Fountain Pen measures 5 1/2" inches capped and 5 3/4" posted.
This writing instrument is a Sheaffer Legacy 1 Fountain Pen and is model number 842 with production from 1995 to 1999. The cap has 23K gold electroplated trim with the spring-loaded clip. "SHEAFFER USA" stamped on the sides of the cap clip. The cap banding is 23K gold electroplated and stamped. This Sheaffer has the Touchdown Filling system and works as it was designed to - I tested with water and works perfectly. Or one can use the Sheaffer ink cartridges.
The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The trim is perfect with no scratches or brassing.
The nib is marked 18K Sheaffer 750 and has a Stub point measuring 1.27mm when measuring with digital calipers. This Sheaffer 18K/750 Stub Nib has been inked but has been extremely well taken care of. The Inlaid Nib does show a hint of flex which is unusual for a Sheaffer inlaid Nib - it is a nice surprise.
This Sheaffer Legacy 1 Fountain Pen comes with the original box with the fountain pen.
This Sheaffer Legacy Fountain Pen has a great look and feel in the hand with fantastic color. I would consider this Sheaffer Legacy 1 to be in Near Mint Condition. A marvelous addition to your writing arsenal collection.

Please Read Carefully Before Bidding: I strive to find unique and difficult to find pieces that I believe will capture the attention of collectors. I spend a great deal of time traveling, talking with people, sitting at auctions and waiting in line at estate sales to find these pieces. Some of the items are "farm fresh" and some I have had in my possession for years and time to let others enjoy. Please make sure this item is what you want before bidding. If you would like different pictures or have concerns about damage, on whether it is repainted or repaired ask before bidding. If I can find out, I will. These are antiques so expect them not to be "perfect".
Items: I do not clean most items for fear of harm. I, unfortunately, am not an expert on anything, if you need any further info or pictures, please contact me before bidding. I will do my best to help you.
