Vickers Viscountturboprop airplane tin toy by Tomiyama, Scandinavian Airlines version. Made in Japan, 1950's to mid 1960's. The plane is complete and fully functional (see below).The left and righthand props can be started separately by levers in the canopy, the red and left position lights start to blink (bulb of the green light has tobe replaced) and the canopy light is turned on. As soon as the pilot cabincover is shut the plane starts to taxi. Inside the passenger room a stewardess...is moving forward and backward. Due to lengthening of the toothed belt by age shestops from time to time.All propellers areoriginal, nothing is missing. The battery (2x 1.5V AA) compartment is clean andshows no signs of corrosion. The upper middle section of the wing was heavilycracked when I got the plane. I repaired the cracks, reinstalled the originalcontact points and they work perfectly. When the wing is mounted to thefuselage the repair is completely invisible (see picture). The fuselage doesnot show any corrosion, there is a shallow ding on the underside of the tailfin but this certainly can be pressed out. The plane comescomplete with a professionally made reproduction of the original box and a copyof the original instruction sheet.A very nice andrare example of this ingenious tin toy from the 1950's.
