Beautifully crafted and unusual huge vintage Taxco Mexico heavyweight sterling silver pendant, in wide curved cross design with central round raised enamel/resin onyx “stone” and oversized bail.
Stamped 925, Mexico & TA- 271 (inside bail).
...er-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">In good to very good vintage condition with signs of ageing and wear-fine surface scratches all over, stone excellent.
I have cleaned this piece gently with a silver cloth and water.
Comes on bonus new fine sterling silver curb chain necklace, stamped 925 (due to weight of pendant I recommend using a heavier chain for continued wear)

Taxco:I have quite a few amazing Taxco Mexico pieces in store so I thought I would write a small synopsis of the "brand" that I have discovered through research :)
Sterling silver Taxco Mexico pieces not only refer to a brand but to a region in Mexico famous for its fine sterling silver, artisans and creative, beautiful, unusual, often playful and bold jewellery designs.
I have found that Taxco Mexico sterling silver pieces are inspired and reflect all the beautiful things in life both spiritual (traditional symbols) and natural (plants, flowers, sun, moon, animals & the universe) and creating something uniquely "The Taxco Way"-often large and sometimes incorporating golden brass highlights, colourful gemstones, shell and/or vibrant enamel.
I have been collecting and selling Taxco sterling 925 jewellery for some time now and am continually amazed at the quality and uniqueness of their pieces. It is a testament to the Taxco artisan's that so many of the vintage pieces I've acquired look and function as well as they did when originally created despite some ageing/wear.
Taxco markings/stamps vary mostly depending on era and artist eg: the word "Taxco" is often on pieces pre-1960's, open eagle symbol is mid 1960's-early 1970's and from mid 1970's the letter/number combo (eg: TM-180). Sometimes the artisan will put their initials (eg: EUC) or name as well. Mex or Mexico 925 is almost always present.
Taxco Mexico sterling silver continues today with gorgeous new pieces (sometimes using original vintage artisan moulds) both locally and internationally (online) in the medium to high-end price range.
About the jewellery:My goal is to bring you happiness & adornment by finding beautiful and unusual high quality vintage sterling silver jewellery that is not mass-produced and is a bit different/individual-it's also recycling :)
I am a sterling silver enthusiast and not a professional jeweller but I do a lot of research on the items that I sell including makers, stamps, style and era to be as accurate as possible.
All pieces are tested (regardless of stamps etc) to ensure they are solid sterling silver (not plated-unless stated otherwise in item description).
I hand clean all sterling jewellery with a silver cloth and water so as not to over-clean/strip vintage detailing where applicable.
Prices are based on the original cost to me, ebay charges and a small part of my cleaning/presenting time-that being said I'm always happy to consider reasonable counter-offers :)
Returns are accepted-please contact me within 7 days of receiving your item to inform me of your intent to return. Refunds are provided upon item's return in purchased condition.
