What an interesting and likely scarce form in black glass, short & fat saggy base straight side ale or porter with an almost undersized neck/lip fo...r the body, which measures 4" diameter by 7.75" tall. Guessing at late 17th/early 18th century era to about 1830's or so. Beautiful dark olive green example with a perfect lip no chips or damage & sand chip style pontil.
However, always a but right? its cracked, all on one side. Sort of a meandering 5" or so across the mid body with a J hook closed loop on the shoulder. Sigh, it is what it is. Fortunately, one side has no problems, and overall being so dark, you can't tell until you start examining it. It won't fall apart, don't worry about that.
You're buying it as-is, but if you're into form in black glass, this may well be one you don't have yet.
