A wooden chest is shown all around to be solid from all sides. A spectator is requested to place any of his/her belongings into the
chest and to close the lid while you are facing the other direction.
After the chest is closed, the magician turns around and takes th...e wooden box back. While the magician holds the chest in both
hands, and some magic gestures and words are said, the performer can immediately name the item which is kept inside of the box
without opening the hinged lid. The chest can also be examined before and after the effect if desired, but not necessary.
With some practice and handling of the box, you should be able to secretly lock and open the mechanism built into the inside bottom
