Up for auction is a vintage folded stampless letter and cover combination that was mailed from Blackford, Indiana and addressed to Arthur Hickman, somewhere in Virginia. Other than the name and state, rest of address is to faded for me to read. I came up with bits of town and county name, but nothing I could put together.. Cover has manuscript postal markings. Letter is of a personal and what's going on around here nature, dated 1848 and was from Elizabeth A. Walker to other fami...ly members. There are some areas on the first page that may be challenging to read. Paper has edge damage, foldline tears and cuts along with staining issues... .. ......paper has edge/corner wear, age staining and has yellowed/toned from time... $2.25 covers shipping in the USA.
