ITEM: Th...is is a Mikame Yellow Cube Die box that works differently than any other. You show a yellow cube, with lines cut in the surface. It is 3 by 3 by 3 inches. You show the box, 9 by 3 3/4 by 4 5/8 inches. There are two hinged doors on the front, and three hinged lid doors on the top. The left and right doors line up with the two front doors. The hinged door in the center, 1 1/4 inches wide, lines up with the center partition in the front. There are 2 yellow cubes, one solid and one that opens up to make three pieces, all hinged together. The box is shown with front and top doors open. There is no door on the back, it is always open. To perform, after showing the box, close the front doors, and leave the top three doors up and open. The hinges have a friction fit so the three doors will stay up. Hold the box in one hand as you pick up the yellow block with fingers on the outside of the two pieces that are hinged. Hold tightly to keep block from opening. Lower it into the box slowly, as you ask audience which side they want you to put the block. As you say this move the block back and forth. You stop when the center of the block is over the raised center riser in the bottom of the box. When block is centered and touching the raised center riser, let it go. It will unfold, with the center resting on the raised riser, and each side resting on the bottom of the box. Close all three top doors. Box has the hidden noise device so you can move it right and left , open the doors one at a time to see that there is nothing on that side, as you would do the standard die box routine. To finish, open the two front doors, and the left and right top doors. The yellow block has disappeared. Do not open the narrow center top drawer as that hides a portion of the yellow block. Now you can pull up both sliding doors on the sides, and show the box all around. Do not tip the box forward so not to show yellow lines on the un-folded block. If you want, you can put a yellow silk or sponge ball in the gimmicked block and that will be found in the box when opened.
IMPORTANT: To remove the yellow block after the show, you do not want to put stress on the gimmicked block. After the show, remove the left and ride sliding panels. Open the top three doors. Hold the box in one hand, and with your other hand, press down on the center of the yellow block with your fingers, holding it firmly in place. Now slowly turn the box upside down, until the two hinged sides of the gimmicked yellow block fall back into position, closing the block. Press the block closed and remove it.
There are no instructions. The above text explain the basics. If you google the Mikame Die Box, you can see someone performing it on youtube.
