IntroductionThis book is more than a record of the past; it is a statement of the future.GROSSENBURG'S Fifty Years With JOHN DEERE is about two companies, one family, and their relationship over the last fifty years. The companies are: (1) Deere and Company of Moline, Illinois, and (2) Grossenburg Implement, Inc., of Winner, South Dakota. The family involved, is the Charles and Blanche Grossenburg family of Winner, South Dakota. This book is a special tribute to Charles Grossenburg, the founder of the business. Sometimes, Charles felt a little left out as to being credited with his building the business to be the largest single John Deere dealership in the United States.Hopefully, this book will, at times, give credit where credit is due.In the following pages, we will use the terms "John Deere" or "Deere and Company" to describe John Deere; and "Grossenburgs" or "Grossen-burg Implement" to describe their business whenever possible. All pictures are of the actual item.
