This is a Vintage 1950s set of 2 big Southwestern Motor Transport (SMT) metal tin signs that were riveted onto the backs of SMT tractor trailers. Each sign is in 2 parts. The SMT logo was patterned after the US Army Air Corps logo. You get both signs, the "Southwestern Motor Transport" lightning bolt sign and the "SMT Lines" winged sign. The "Southwestern Motor Transport" Lightning bolt sign measures a big 6 feet 8 inches by 11.5 inches. The "SMT Lines" winged sign... measures a big 6 feet by 1 foot 9 inches. The signs are each in 2 pieces as may be seen in the pictures because 1 was on each of the 2 swinging back doors and would come together when the doors were closed. The signs were out in Texas weather and are in used condition with lots of scratches, scrapes, dings, bends and sun fading but they have a great vintage look to them.
