This is a great old advertising primitive piece that dates back to the early 1900s. It is a wooden crate that was used to hold bottles securely in place and is marked: TRADE MARK "TWOPLEX" REGISTERED 1905 - DEMIJOHN - MADE UNDER THE PATENTS OF GEO. C. BANKER - FRED C. WHITE - 241 WATER ST. NEW YORK. It stands about 21" tall x 12" x 12-1/2". The interior of the box has spring loaded braces to hold bottle in place. The top is secured with closure ...hardware on each side that reads: "BANKER'S PATENT JUNE 17 1890". There are two metal handles on the front of the piece and one on the back. The top looks like the owner may have written his name which appears to be "Jackson". Very nice rustic early collectible in great vintage condition.
