I have absolutely no idea when, or how this got damaged. I only recently realised it is a badge which woukd have had a longish pin to stick it on to a hat or in your lapel. For whatever reason, Father never talked about almost everything. I do know he got it in Hungary in 1933 at tge 4th World Jamboree at Gorilla. They seem to have been issued as a gift from the Hungarian Scouts to all visitors. It ended up in a box with the books and pennant etc, to be lovingly looked at - by him, and... never explained or shown to us kids. Very strange I now think! There is also a Union Jack shoulder badge which I just recently decided was what was worn by the UK contingent, possibly as Identification, thpugh the Scots kilts may have been a dead give away!Anyway, this brooch/pin is in very good condition - despite the lack of the 'stick in' bit. Made of base metal or maybe even aluminium...very light. About 2cms in diameter.I did, albeit unsuccessfully, ask a couple of jeweller/silverworker friends if tgey coukd attach a new one, but the lack of enthusiasm is self-evident 😣 This like the other bits and pieces needs a new lease of life in a caring home.I haven't seen anything similar to provide a guide as to what is a fair figure. Not make of a precious metal, not in perfect condition, but an interesting object with a good historical background. Very happy to discuss.
