Su...perb quality genuine 200 year old sterling silver example; a handsome large size and attractive shape, with a high scrolled handle and spout decorated with beautiful period prick/wriggle-work engraved flowers and foliage. Has attractive reeded silver border edges and it rests on 4 undamaged silver ball feet. Inside it still has its original clean gilt-lined interior and it weighs a heavy approx 175 grams. Decorated in one of the cartouches with a nice period engraved monogram, the other is blank. Lovely early jug, ready to be used.Measurements Impressive size, measures approx. 5.7 inches (144mm) in length, (including handle), x 3.15 inches (79mm) wide and stands 3.95 inches (98mm) in height.Date English antique early 19th Century Georgian solid sterling silver, stamped with a lion passant silver hallmark, the crowned leopards head of the London assay office the silver duty mark of King George the Third.
