Vintage US Military Inflatable Boat Dinghy Marine Air Bellows Foot PumpMarked with an NSN number: 2090-12-153-8727, DSB, BUND. The lookup for this number is BLASEBALG, FUSZ-, SCH, 2090 - Miscellaneous Ship and Marine Equipment.BLASEBALG translates to bellows or foot pumpFurther research revealed that this bellows is essentially the same as bellows made during World War II by German...y for dinghies, or inflatable watercraft.I suspect the US Military took control of German manufacturing of these bellows or perhaps the entire dinghy, and had them made after the war for their own use.I am not clear how old this bellows is. It might be as old as the period just after the war, or perhaps it is newer - maybe Vietnam era. The bellows material is a durable black rubberized fabric, rather than the leather I saw on the period German bellows in my research.This one includes the original twist-lock hose as shown.The pump measures 20" long x 9-1/2" wide, and ranges from 4" to 10-1/2" when being pumped.The hose is 5 feet long, excluding the 2" twist lock bronze ends.This is a working bellows and hose. It pumps lots of air with each pump, and I couldn't detect an leaks.Physically, the pump is in vintage as found condition, with oxidation and other normal wear to the metal parts and normal wear to the non-metal parts.
