Description: A lovely English Antique Victorian solid sterling silver hip flask which has a rectangular shaped body, with sloping wide shoulders raising to a screw fitted lid and stands on a flat base. The flasks lid screws undone and screws tightly shut with the interior of the lid still fitted with the original cork. The hip flask is of an excellent size and would easily fit into your pocket. It's made from a thick gauge of solid sterling silver and is of lovely quality. The flask ha...s a plain style body with just an engraved monogram to the front. It's an excellent all original hip flask which would make a superb addition to anyones collection or is ready to be used.
Maker & Date Hallmark: Maker Hawkesworth, Eyre & Co (Registered July 1833). Date hallmark 1865 and assay hallmark Sheffield.
Measurements: Length 11.5 cm, Width 6.8 cm and Height 3.5 cm.
Weight: Silver weight 133 Grams.
Condition: The body is in excellent condition for its age and with use but does have some age related small dents and repairs to the shoulders and base of the flask but nothing too major or anything which is that noticeable really just general wear with its 154 years of age. The lid twists undone as it should and closes tightly shut. The flask holds up to 200 ml of liquids with no leaks so has no splits or holes. The lids interior is still fitted with the original cork. The flask is fully hallmarked to the body, base and lid which are very readable just the makers mark to base is slightly rubbed. A wonderful Victorian period hip flask which is ready to be used or would make a lovely addition to anyones collection. Best of all a very useable object still today.
