This is for a beautiful antique pair of silver knitting needle guards from the 1800s. Both guards have a bird perched on the top, facing each other when the guards are together and both birds have detailing to the feathers on both sides. The guards are also nicely decorated to the tips and are joined by a chain and complete with a hook for hanging to a chatelaine. They do have a silver mark which is very worn so I can not say where they originate for sure but they are likely Dutch. The...y are in absolute excellent condition with no damage at all, all the detail is nice and crisp and they display beautifully. When together they measure 105mm (4.25") long by 25mm (1") tall at the birds.
