Two heavy, very sturdy wrought iron keys about 4.25 and 4.5 inches long likely dating back to the 17th or 18th century.  They are probably German in origin and would have fitted large latch-type locks that were often used on chests – sometimes called Nuremberg chests.  These are very well-made examples of this type of key – better than most and very collectable. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  Postage is £4.5...0 UK (signed for), £11.00 to continental Europe and £13.00 to the rest of the world.  If you are interested in locks, keys or padlocks, please check out my other auctions.  This is likely my last (or maybe penultimate) week of listing.
