Morgan Dennis (American, 1893-1960) is most famous for his drawings of Scottie and Westie dogs in advertising for Buchanan's Black & White Scotch Whiskey, as well as the famous Listening Dogs for Texaco gasoline company. Dennis was also a writer and an illustrator, both of his own books and for other authors. His etchings, pastels, water colors and oil paintings were in high demand in their day, and continue to be the object of desire for many collectors today. This is an unsigned ...etching of a reclining German Shepherd Dog by Morgan Dennis, initialed within the artwork (see photo 3 circled in red). It displays a raised etching line and is a lovely depiction of the breed, with fine detail and appealing personality. The image area measures about 6 1/2" by 4 3/4" (within the etching lines) and overall size is 14" by 11". The etching is on heavy stock paper. It is unframed and will be shipped flat. If you are a Morgan Dennis art collector, please see our other auctions for another Morgan Dennis etching. We will be happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases.
