This is one of the older English Staffordshire figural pottery hen or chicken on a nest box or tureen. The underside has an impressed or incised mark of "Dudson", a mark that the maker used only around 1850, or the mid-19th century.The maker is James Dudson in business from 1838 to 1888, one of the Staffordshire potteries; most of Dudson's production was not marked. The dish or tureen is 7 ½" high, 8 ¼" long and 6 ½" wide.The bottom, or the nest or basket, is colored yellow. The hen... is laying on white eggs and a white edge. The hen is white with red on the head and some black and mauve. There is one small chip shown in the photos; no crazing or cracks is present and the paint is still in good condition for the age. We ship via USPS Priority, FedEx home delivery and First Class for items under 16oz. ALL items are fully insured and sent with tracking.International buyers: We only ship international via the eBay GSP (Global Shipping Program) Buyers are responsible for all customs and incidental fees related to imported goods.

Returns: We offer a no hassle 30 day on all of our items. We do ask that you contact us prior to requesting a return so we can anticipate the items arrival and provide you with a return shipping label. The item must be returned to our store in the same condition it was received in. Your refund will be processed within 48 hours of our store receiving the item and condition is evaluated.
Received Damaged items: In the rare event your item is damaged during shipping (we pack well but accidents during transport do happen) we require the buyer to send photos of the damaged item, shipping box, and shipping label. This is required so we can submit an insurance claim to the shipping carrier as all of our items are sent 100% insured and photos are requirement of USPS and FedEx. Your refund will be processed as soon as we have the claim filed with the carrier (within 48 hours).
International Returns: The above rules are also applicable in addition to we will deduct any applicable import fees for returned items from the refund amount.
