Offered here is a very nice GENUINE AND AUTHENTIC WWII PHOTOGRAPH COLLECTED BY A US ARMY-AIR FORCE OFFICER ON SERVICE IN THE PACIFIC. THIS PHOTO DEPICTS THE AIRPLANE WITH NOSE ART WITH THE FLIGHT-MAINTANANCE CREW. IN THE BACKGROUND ARE PARKED C-47s. THE PLANE IS MARKED: 'BROADWAY LIMITED" NOSE ART. Photo taken in the South Pacific at the air base of the JUNGLE SKIPPERS" SQUADRONS OF THE ...317TH TROOP CARRIER GROUP. IT IS DATED: JULY 26, 1945 ON THE BACK. The photo is in black and white. On the back it is stamped: "OFFICIAL PHOTO: U.S. ARMY AIR FORCES JULY 26, 1945. The photo measures 4-7/8 inches by 3-7/8 inches in size. There are a few small spots on the image. Their motto was: "WE GAIN BY HAZARD" which was coined by flying experience with poor maps and dangerous landings. This collector also served in WWI and many of his balloon and flying photos are listed for sale this week.
