You are bidding on a boxed Republic of the Philippines, WWII Defense of the Philippines Medal. The medal is used and is in good condition with some signs of surface wear and age but no enamel damage. The ribbon is clean and original and has pin and open catch fastener that is in good working order. The single ribbon bar is also used and is clean with a pin and open catch fastener, The lapel pin I don’t believe is correct despite having the correct color...s. The box is also in a used and good condition with no broken or crushed corners but does have a 3” x 1” inch scuff to the lid from what looks like a sticker or a stripe of tape was applied then removed.. The inside lid bears manufacturer information and an image of the El Oro Logo. The Philippine Liberation Medal is a military award of the Republic of the Philippines which was created on 20 December 1944, and was initially issued as the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. The decoration was presented to any service member, of both Philippine Commonwealth and allied militaries, who participated in the liberation of the Philippine Islands between the dates of 17 October 1944, and 2 September 1945.
