Vintage World War II Army Denim " B " Bag

Up for auction is a denim bag from World War II. For 75 years my Dad referred to this as "his duffel bag or his 'B' bag" (apparently the "A" bag was the larger one). When I finally looked at it, I noticed that isn't his name on the bag, or his service number. My Dad (102 on his last birthday) was surprised and can't explain how his bag was switched with someone named Raleigh F. Jacobs. My Dad swears he crawled up the side of a ship with this bag on his back, hol...ding all of his possessions, when he was shipped home from the South Pacific. The bag has been hanging on a hook in the basement for maybe the last 60 years, so it's definitely dusty and dirty and it has a 3 inch tear in the denim. I think the rope tie is probably the original one. All things considered, it isn't in terrible condition. The bag is 22 inches long, 8 inches across at the bottom, and 24 inches wide.
