World War II Era US M - 1 Helmet Liner, CAPAC, VFW, Portage PA

This is an original WW II M-1 helmet liner, made by CAPAC. After the war it was repurposed by a VFW post and has been painted a teal color and decorated to be used as a parade helmet. It is in good condition. There are no cracks. The webbing and headband are intact. There are no odors. The outer paint has peeled off in some places (as seen in the photos) revealing the normal liner underneath. It is a nice VFW post relic. Sadly this post has closed because the older vets are gone a...nd no one was left to keep it going.Because of the paint it is not an ideal stand-alone WW II liner but if you need an authentic liner for under a steel pot, it is a good solid liner and the paint won't show.
