DESCRIPTION
This is an old, scarce, tiny folding lupe, German high quality optics, marked Busch, pocket size magnifying glass. Magnification factor is 10x. Check it in the Busch catalogue from September 1934, here in picture #6, #7.
Produced in the 1930s by Emil Busch A.G. in Rathenow, it was likely made with Carl Zeiss lenses – from 1927 Carl Zeis...s became a major shareholder of Emil Busch company and Busch continued making cameras but lenses were produced by Zeiss (check online Emil Busch A G history, please). High quality optics, this loupe has a high resolution if it's compared to similar 10x loupes and wide distortion-free field of view. Lacquered black painted brass body and matte nickel plated brass folding holder with Busch logo.
Size (folded) is about 0.78x0.84x1.52in (20x21.5x39mm).
Approx. 17 mm diameter of the glass itself.
CONDITION
Glass is clean – there are no scratches, chips, foxing or haze on the lens. Concerning the metallic/brass part please refer to the pictures. Great condition for a scarce item made about 90 years ago.
