Precolumbian Mayan Aztec carved jade stone primitive effigy burial mask amulet We are pleased to offer this rough jade effigy carving / burial mask amulet which probably dates back to the 1500's. T...he estate of the former owner claims it was procured from a sanctioned Mayan dig site just post WWII. The owner was a military officer who was detailed to the area as part of an international historic preservation mission or something to that effect and it was legally given to him for service rendered. It measures about 2.5" long and 2.25" tall, weight is 3 oz. This piece did have an appraisal at one point but unfortunately the documentation has been lost. It is in fine condition with no damage. If you can prove that it is not ancient in two weeks after receiving, you may send it back for a refund. Pieces like this can sell for thousands!
