ca 1850 Stomach Pump in Mahogany Case
This original stomach (Gastric) Pump was made by Evans & Co of 31 Stamford Street London and dates, I believe, to around 1850. 
It is in a velvet lined mahogany case marked "John Weiss & Son" and "62 Strand London" on brass inserts.
The appliance appears to be complete with plated brass, woven tubing and bone fittings.
The mahogany box has a lot of external marks and the left hand brass hinge is broken where the wood has ch...ipped away. It comes complete with working key.
