This beautiful cranberry blanket measures 82" by 63" across and weighs 5 1/2 lbs un-boxed.
A 3.5-point HB blanket, when leaving the factory, it expected to measures 81" by 63" across and weigh 5 lbs. The one being sold here has the right measurements and weighs just a tad over 5 lbs (5 lbs 5 oz, give or take) which is a normal variation on old blankets like this one.
So we believe this one has all its original wool in it, no loss of the "fleecy" wool on the surface....r>The label is English Only 100% Wool, used between 1950 (when "All Wool" was discontinued) and 1970, when French became an official language in Canada and all labels had to be bi-lingual.
The color exists was introduced in the 1930's as part of the "Deep Tones colourway series", a the same time than the Imperial Tones. Most of those colors were out of production by the 1960's.
By the way, the cranberry color became violet on our pic # 8, for unknown reasons. The correct color is shown on all the other pics.
Pics # 1 through # 6 show the label side; pics # 7 and 8 are of the no-label side.
