This is a wonderful Mid-Century Modern architectural rendering for UNOCAL 76 gas station and service center. It measures 21 1/2" in the frame and 13 1/2" in the frame. It features the then new concept of self serve gas pumps with covered area and payment building. It also shows a PROTECH service center with a couple walking away from the front door. The rendering depicts a parking area with 8 parking spaces. There are 3 sub-compact cars, 1 in yellow, 1 in ...red and 1 in white. There is a man paying at the self serve booth. The areas not depicted under the covered awning show rain and water in a water color wash. Thus showing how the awning is important to the customer. It has a soft blue matt and gold metal frame. This is what I know about the history of this piece. It was done by an architect from Alameda California. It was gifted to his relatives Mack and Valerie. It is personalized to them on the back with Hi! and signed SACTO. I would happy to answer any questions you may have. This is a real piece of Americana.
