BACKGROUND &MARKINGS Our beautiful girl has alovely bisque head with a ball jointed composi...tion body. This Germanbisque doll was from a Maryland Historical Museum collection that was tagged asa bequest of an avid Doll collector, Pearl Schaeffer. She also has a tag pinnedto her dress with her former owner’s name and the dates of this doll's acquisition (see photo #10).Our lovely doll was madeby the German doll makers Schoenau & Hoffmeister in the early 1900s. Schoenau & Hoffmeister dolls were known for their endearing looksand fine quality workmanship. The back of this pretty doll’s head is marked, “S & H with PB ina Star, 1909-3 ½ Germany.” These markings indicate that Simon & Halbigproduced the bisque head for this sweet doll.HEAD Our darling antique doll hasa bisque socket head. She has lovely facial features which include: dark brown workingsleep eyes with “real” eyelashes, multi-stroke brows and delicately painted upperand lower lashes. Her sleep eyes work well. She has rosy cheeks and an orangey redopen mouth displaying four pretty white teeth. Her old reddish-brown wig has been pulled back into a braid. Her red hair looks wonderful with her old-fashioneddress! It could use a restyling. We will loosen a corner of her pate so we can stuffher head for safer shipping. CLOTHING Our pretty girl iswearing a lovely handmade antique dress designed with a pale yellow silky fabric.Her pretty frock is embellished with gorgeous ribbon trim. Her newer full slipand pantalets are also trimmed in lace. Her pretty lace trimmed undershirt doesnot come off. She is wearing old socks and shoes which we will leave on. Oneshoe is taped in the back. BODY She has a jointed 11-piece woodand composition body with a chubby belly and long slender legs and arms.SIZE Our charming doll measuresabout 21 inches tall. We willinclude a doll stand. CONDITION This antique Schoenau & Hoffmeister Doll is quitelovely! Her bisque face and deep brownsleep eyes are very pretty and her smile adorable! She has a rub on one cheekand what seems to be a factory flea bite on one ear (see photo #8). Her composition body is in good conditionwith repairs on her arms. There are some chips in the composition especially nearher joints and the legs are tightly strung. Her lovely handmade silky antiquedress looks very sweet! There are some stains and the front trim is torn at thehem. The vintage undergarments she is wearing are very nice. This sweet antiquedoll is just darling and displays beautifully! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ What a lovely younglady we found! This delightful Germandoll will fit in beautifully in any antique doll collection! She is reallycharming and just perfect for any doll lover! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

SHIPPING: We are usually able to ship within 1 business day of payment verification. We ship through the United States Postal Service, and we try to offer our customers the most appropriate postage options. We obtain a tracking number for each mailing.
SHIPPING CHARGES: Our basic shipping charge is set to cover postage and shipping materials, plus a small handling charge. We purchase postal.insurance for more expensive items, and eBay requires Signature Confirmation delivery for items costing $750 or more. In some cases, we will require Signature Confirmation for certain items costing less. We add these costs to the total shipping charge for more expensive listings. If a shipping charge estimate is too high, we refund the appropriate amount to the customer after we have shipped the item and verified the actual cost.
COMBINED SHIPPING: We are usually able to offer combined shipping discounts. Assuming that multiple items can be appropriately shipped in one box, we begin with the charge for the heaviest item and add between $1 and $5 for extra items, depending on weight and additional packing material needed. The added charge could be more for unusually heavy or large items.
International customers: We are happy to offer combined shipping discounts to international buyers. The added charge for extra items can be higher than in the case of domestic shipping due to higher postage rates.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: Bidding from international customers is welcome! We accept PayPal payments only from other countries; we do not accept checks or currency. As noted above, we will combine shipping for international customers whenever possible and include the savings in our shipping charge on the invoice. We ship using Priority International Mail through the US Postal Service if a package weighs four pounds or more. When it weighs less, we also offer First Class International as an option. Please be aware that Priority International packages can be tracked while still in the United States, and they can be insured.
