Signed at bottom of picture. Picture shows artist's home town in Germany. Custom made frame." During World War II, five former CCC [Civilian Conservation Corps] camps in Michigan's Upper Peninsula were converted to prisoner of war camps, principally for Germans captured by Allied forces in the German theatre: Camp Au Train, Camp Evelyn, Camp Pori, Camp Sidnaw, and Camp Raco.
