Antique Stoneware CanningFruit Jar w/ Zinc Lid Marked Macomb Pottery Co 1899A nice old stoneware canning jar with MacombPottery Co Pat Jan 24, 1899 on the bottom. It is very easy to read. Jar hasa Ball porcelain lined zinc lid that fits the jar but may not be original. The pottery jar is about 8 ¼ inch tall fromthe base to the top of the lid. It isabout 5 ¾ across the base each way. Thejar is very clean, does have a few chips on the bottom. There ar...e some rough places on the sides, itlooks like extra material is stuck to it (see pictures) I think it is where itwas made, maybe it is some kind of old patch, or maybe it is where it was upagainst something and it got on it. Wereally don’t know. The jar is notcracked and is smooth around the inner rim. It shows a lot of authentic age and wear, Ihave only cleaned it, otherwise it has been left in original condition.
