Old Style Fire Truck Bell W Mounting Bracket
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:15605443 |
This bell is off of an older (antique) fire truck, as it is much thicker and heavier than the newer bells. It weighs 42.5 pounds with the mounting bracket. The old bells were made as heavy castings, unlike the newer (much lighter) bells that are spun on a lathe. The bell itself is 12" diameter on the bottom, and 13" wide with the bracket. The clapper has a tongue on the end, for a pull rope. From the bottom of the bell to the acorn nut on the top measures 16" high. There are a couple small areas where the nickel plating is worn away, but nothing over 3/4".
After collecting antique firefighting items for over 40 years, I am starting to clean out my attic. So I will be listing fire station gongs, lights, turnout equipment, explosive meters, apparatus equipment, etc..... Keep my auctions in mind.
