Here's a scarce early gallon size Fowler's Cherry Smash syrup jug over 100 years old with its original cork stopper! FOWLER'S CHERRY SMASH OUR NATION'S BEVERAGE (all boldly emb in big circle slug plate on front).....machine made....ring collar with glass finger grip handle.....original cork stopper.....clear (but would turn amethyst).....round....one gallon size....11"tall....Excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage of any kind. A nice clean jug with only a couple s...pots of light inside content haze. John Fowler of Richmond, VA invented Cherry Smash in 1901. By the 1920s Fowler's Cherry Smash had become very popular. It was sold in drugstores in a unique Cherry Smash dispenser. This gallon jug contained the syrup that was sold to drug stores to make the Cherry Smash. This jug dates from the 1910-1919 era and is hard to find...
