Presented is a neat 14 karat gold Masonic pendant or fob. This piece dates to
circa 1900. The fob has a double headed eagle design on one side, beneath the
32nd Degree and above a banner with the Latin motto "Spes Mea In Deo Est"
against black enamel. This motto translates to "My hope is in God, " which is the
motto of the Scottish Masonry 32nd Degree. The opposite side has a pelican on a
nest beneath a red enamel cross and white enamel rose, with th...e INRI banner
below and a Hebrew letter above. Both sides of the fob are hinged and open to
reveal a middle panel. The middle panel is decorated with a Teutonic cross on
one side, with a design of a balance, a dagger, and five stars against rich blue
enamel. The other side has black and red enamel decorating the cross, with the
classic Freemason symbol of a compass and square, eye and trowel with the letter
G, all against blue enamel.
This piece is in great condition. The enamel is in great shape, with no
losses. The hinged portions snap shut nicely. There are no monograms and no
monogram removals.
This piece is stamped and guaranteed 14k on the loop/bail at the top, as well
as the maker's mark for the Riker Bros.
The pendant is about 1 1/2 inches long.
This piece weighs 17.3 grams.
