I do not know much about this crock so please be sure to view all photos very carefully.
What you see is EXACTLY what you will receive. There are no markings of any kind that I could locate. Crock has 2 cobalt blue leaf decorations on either side. My guess, based on research of similar crocks, would be that it was made in PA or VA circa 19th C. Is definitely old and was definitely hand made.
This c...rock has been repaired on one side. Has 3 cracks total, 2 of which that meet and again, have been repaired. Repair job looks decent I guess but could’ve been better as the section that was affixed (glued) back on is raised a bit.
There does not appear to be any missing material from the piece that was repaired other than a very tiny chip out of one of the cracks located on top section of the leaf. Is held together very well and nothing is loose or moveable.
There are also a few small chips on rim and base. Normal firing imperfections and areas of discoloration.
Although this crock has been damaged and then repaired, it is still an impressive and rare piece and would make the perfect addition to your antique stoneware collection.
Again, please be sure to examine all photos very carefully for details. Feel free to ask any questions.
