I am offering for sale an early painted mustard brown firkin. It measures 11 5/8" tall, 11 5/8" across the lid, and 12 1/8" across the bottom. It is in solid and beautiful condition, with no loose parts. The wonderful old paint is a mustard leaning towards brown and I have no doubt it is the original paint from the 1800's. This is a nice, large size old bucket that will display well by itself or at the bottom of a stack! The bottom rim shows some repair with old putty as pictured. The ...handle fits tightly across the lid when raised but can be moved from side to side. On the bottom is the following inscription "Mom gave this to me 1982. It belonged to Great Grandma Lock. It's about 70 years old." Not sure when this was written, but this firkin is at least 150 to 200 years old.PLEASE NOTE: Ebay will add sales tax when shipping to most states.Please look at all the pictures for condition and ask allquestions before buying.
