we are happy to accept payment by bank transfer, cheque or cash on collectiona very fine silver & enamel brooch designed by archibald knox for liberty & co in its original box which is included in the sale, the exterior of the box is in excellent order with no scuffs or tears to the leather, the interior retains its original silk & velvet lining and the clasp closes with a satisfying click, the brooch has a wonderful knox design set with peacock feather ...purple blue enamel to the tear drop shaped panels and shaded greens to the central panel and outer margins , it is typical of the art nouveau & arts & crafts period and of super quality and would have been sold through the liberty & co store in londons regent street as part of the cymric range, there were several designers using this medium of design and decoration during this era, amongst those the most notable were, archibald knox, bernard cuzner, jessie m king, theodor fahrner, murrle bennett, charles horner and james fenton.it would have been produced by haselers of birmingham, these were the only silversmith making for libertys and produced the cymric silver ware range plus the tudric pewter range also, fully marked to the back with the distinctive WHH stamp for the maker, it has a simple c clasp and pin which is typical of pieces of this era produced for liberty & co.it measures a tad under 1.5" across so a fine size that would be a joy to wear, please feel free to ask any questions and i will reply within 24hours, this is a genuine piece and should not be mistaken for the unmarked copies and reproduction items offered on ebay.postage is by special delivery in the u.k and airsure or signed for to international destinations.
