Very rare and original, 1913 Peter Schoenhofen Brewing Co. of Chicago, Illinois Pre-Prohibition, Tin Lithographed Advertising Serving Tray featuring a wonderful and portrait of a beautiful young woman with red hair and a captivating smile. The Tray advertises the brewery's "Edelweiss Beer".
This rare and original, Tin Litho Beer Tray measures 13" in diameter and features a bust portrait of the young red haired beauty against a dark and rich blue background. T...he only text on the image area of the Tray reads "Edelweiss Beer". Text on the raised rim at the bottom reads "The Peter Schoenhofen Brewing Co. / Chicago".
This outstanding, Pre-Prohibition Chicago Brewing Company Advertising Beer Tray is copyright 1913 by the Peter Schoenhofen Brewing Co. and although it does not carry the mark of its manufacturer it has been attributed to Kaufmann & Strauss Co. of New York City. The Chromolithography is of the VERY highest quality as would be expected from the outstanding craftsmen employed by this premier maker of tin lithographed advertising items.
This rare, 1913 Peter Schoenhofen Brewing Company Advertising Serving Tray is not a reproduction, reissue or restrike but is an original 1913 Serving Tray distributed to advertise the Brewery's Edelweiss Beer.
This rare and very attractive, Pre-Prohibition Tin Lithograph California Brewery Advertising Beer Tray is in very good condition and displays nicely. The Chromolithography is bright and bold - rich and warm and exceptionally attractive. There is no significant damage or wear of any kind although there are some spots of high quality, professional restoration to the solid blue background area and it appears that the surface has a clear coat applied which looks somewhat uneven when the Tray is held at an acute angle to a light source. Please see the scans below for a good indication of the condition of this original Chicago Brewery Beer Tray!!
